Do you enjoy soybean jar candles? or melts (for those that do not like to burn). Ten years ago I started making soybean candles for my sister’s country storefront in Watkins Glen NY. I wanted her to not have to pay shipping from out of state, so I thought, I can do this. After many testings I finally developed what I feel is a quality soybean candle.
Eventually my sister decided to go a different avenue, and by then she was offering Wholesale along with her Retail candles. I took over her businesses (Country Keepsakes Online) and (Country Keepsakes Wholesale). After working the business for over a year I changed the wholesale name to CK Wholesale and continued to actually have a bigger client base wholesale wise than retail. I shipped candles to various states and countries including France, Italy, Australia and Canada.
Fast forward a few years and business dropped off here and there and I thought…notice the word ‘thought’ I was ready to turn off my melters and go a new direction myself. So first I closed my retail, then a few months ago I closed my wholesale. But I still had people asking if I could make a few candles, or melts and I slowly realized I wasn’t ready to be done. Maybe what I needed was a change but not necessarily a total change from pouring candles and melts.
So one day it came to me, why not reopen but just offer retail candles and bulk melts, as well as wholesale candles and melts. So I decided to open under “The Candle Wench”. The first day I announced I was back open for business I got a wholesale order from a loyal customer that was one of my first wholesale customers from when I took over from my sister! It was really great to start right back up again.
The retail website is: http://www.thecandlewench.com . We offer just about 60 scents at this time, more tailored to Fall & Winter scents in 2 jar sizes 8oz & 16oz. We also offer bulk melts. We are offering your choice of rustic lids & kraft labels OR black lids and white labels or a mix. (black lids with rustic labels or rustic lids with white labels) your choice. We have scents of Harvest, Mulled Cider, Mountain Mulled Cider, Autumn Blessings, Banana Nut Bread as well as Cinnamon Stick & Vanilla Bean. We will be adding scents as the seasons change. These are great for Christmas, Birthdays or just to have for yourself.
The wholesale website is: The Candle Wench-WS. Here we also offer about 60 scents. There is FREE private labeling so you can tailor the look to your business brand. We have 2 sizes of soybean jar candles (8 & 16oz), and also you can choose lid color between rustic & black and your label color (between white & Kraft). We do have a $50 minimum order and you have to order 2 candles-same scent but otherwise we do not have high minimums and you don’t have to purchase by the case like some of the other big businesses. So if you are looking to carry soybean candles in your shop-we are more than happy to accommodate you! You could be a flower shop, beauty shop, country shop, even a chiropractor (we currently have 3 chiropractors that carry our candles)-so you don’t have to be a candles shop to enjoy offering our candles. Also we offer Fundraising on our Wholesale website for your organization or group!
